Chuck is a
retired Episcopal Priest from the Diocese of Hawaii.
He holds a B.S. in Nautical Sciences from the California
Maritime Academy, and a M.Div. from the Episcopal Church
Divinity School of the Pacific and Oxford University.
Prior to
Seminary, Chuck served as a naval officer, then an
officer in the merchant marine, and operations
manager for a large oil company. He then started a
consulting meteorology company that weather routed
ships across the oceans which for a time became
the largest private meteorological firm in the world.
He has
spent much of his ministry in California serving in
churches in San Jose and Santa Cruz, teaching in the
Community Colleges, and practicing as a Marriage and
Family Counselor. He also worked in a large
computer media manufacturing firm as manager of training
and development,
After this
he sailed his own boat around the eastern Pacific for
several years, and delivered other peoples boats as a
professional Captain.
After
retirement in 2001 from Holy Innocents' Episcopal
Church, on the beach in Lahaina, Maui, he and his wife,
Shirley, moved to Point Roberts where he has served as
an interim minister and an officiate at weddings in the
church and in the community.
Chuck
enjoys retirement by building beautiful classic wooden
boats, rowing, and an occasional delivery of larger
yachts.
